Student Organizations
One of the most important aspects of membership in the Honors College is becoming part of the Honors community at MSU, an opportunity to get to know other diverse, interesting, and engaging students from around the nation and world who share a commitment to academic excellence. In addition to affiliations with nearly every organization on campus, Honors College students may also be involved in activities and organizations sponsored by the Honors College.

The Academic Scholars Program Advisory Council (ASPAC) is a collaborative of student leaders who hold membership in the Academic Scholars Program and the Honors College, designed to support the experience of incoming and current ASP members.

The First-Generation Honors Association (FGHA) assists first-generation students in their transition to the Honors College/Academic Scholars Program and Michigan State University and fosters their continued success in college.

The First Year Council (FYC) was established to build leadership skills for a nominated pool of first-year students within the Honors College.

The Honors College Activities Board (HCAB) is the oldest Honors College student organization, and welcomes new volunteers and ideas for extracurricular activities and community service opportunities.

The Honors College Dean’s Advisory Council (HCDAC) is an Honors College student-led organization that serves as a bridge between HC students and the HC staff and administrators.

The Honors College Service Club (HCSC) promotes the Honors College ethic of service and is committed to enacting positive change and goodwill within the local community through outreach and student-led volunteerism.

The Honors Students of Color Coalition (HSOCC) supports students of color in their transition to the Honors College/Academic Scholars Program and Michigan State University and fosters their continued success in college.

Honors Students Actively Recruiting (H-STAR) involves current students in the recruitment of new Honors College members. The group’s volunteers serve as ambassadors for high-achieving high school students as they navigate through the MSU admissions process.

Honors Times Two (HX2) is a student-run program that reflects the values of mentorship and education. HX2 members volunteer one hour every week to mentor one or two elementary schoolers on fun projects and activities related to shared academic interests.

The International Scholars Advisory Board (ISAB) is a student-run organization in the Honors College with the primary goal of building a community of international scholars, giving international students a chance to assimilate with being students in a new country.

The purpose of the Mental Health Collaborative (MHC) is to unite students of the MSU Honors College in the spirit of mental health support, growth, and awareness.
