Honors Times Two

Honors Times Two is a student-run program that reflects the values of mentorship and education. HX2 members volunteer one hour a week to mentor one or two elementary schoolers on fun projects and activities related to shared academic interests. These projects are shared with the other mentors and mentees at the end of the year (picture shown below). This organization is a great way to get some volunteer hours as well as developing leadership, social, and advising skills. Plus, it’s fun to brighten up a kid’s day!

This program has been active for over 8 years. In 2019-2020, we mentored over 100 elementary students in the East Lansing area, and our number of students continues to grow every year. Interested students can sign up to be part of HX2 at the beginning of every semester and are assigned to a local elementary school.
