Giving

give green day 2017

On Tuesday, November 28, Michigan State University Honors College alumni and friends near and far will come together to celebrate Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving. We hope you will give to Honors College Impact, a week-long service learning program for incoming first-year Honors College students.

The first year of the program included 25 first-year students and five current Honors College students who served as mentors. Under the theme of inequity, students participated in service learning projects in the areas of health, education, housing and food.

"Honors College Impact is the opportunity to connect with and learn more about the community we live in," said Elisha Smith, a first-year Honors College student majoring in human development and family studies in the College of Social Science. "I came into it with an open mind and came out a completely changed person."

96% of Honors College Impact participants said they feel more connected to the greater Lansing community after the week-long service program and 100% said they know where they can and will continue to engage in service projects in the future.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 for this fund. Donations to Honors College Impact will defray the cost for additional students to participate in Honors College Impact.

Please, join us on Tuesday, November 28 as we come together to empower Honors College students.
