Want to sharpen your leadership skills and grow your network?

This annual conference helps first-year MSU Honors College and Academic Scholars Program students learn valuable skills for navigating a changing world.

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • Add Honors Leadership Conference to their resume
  • Network with other Honors College and Academic Scholars Program first-year students

Keynote Speakers

Opening Keynote: LaDonna Croffe

LaDonna Croffe earned her MBA in Strategic Leadership from Amberton University and her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baker College, Flint. She joined the Honors College as an Academic Specialist/Advisor in 2023. Before joining the MSU community, initially in 2017, Croffe was an Advisor at the University of Texas, Arlington.

Closing Keynote: Jasmine Jordan

Jasmine Jordan, a 2021 graduate from the Honors College and the College of Social Science, is a two-time Gates Cambridge Scholar. In fall 2022, she began a doctorate in criminology at the University of Cambridge.

Closing Keynote: Dorothy Zhao

Dorothy Zhao is a current Spartan pursuing three Bachelor of Science degrees in Neuroscience, Psychology, and Human Biology. Outside of the classroom, she balances her time between two research labs, multiple student organizations, and volunteering at Haven House, a local homeless shelter.

Zhao was recently named one of 51 national Marshall Scholars out of a pool of 1,000 applicants. This prestigious program supplies funding for students to study at a university of their choice in the United Kingdom for up to three years.

Closing Keynote: Jerome Hamilton Jr.

Jerome Hamilton Jr. is a third-year Political Science (Pre-Law) major at MSU. He was recently named a national finalist for the Truman Scholarship, which provides $30,000 for students pursuing graduate education that will lead to a career in public service. He is also a nominee for the Udall Scholarship.

Hamilton is also a University Distinguished Scholar, Social Science Scholar, two-time winner at the Diversity Research Showcase, and active member of Honors Students Actively Recruiting (H-STAR).
