Michigan State University’s oldest operating residence hall has been transformed to meet the needs of today’s students.
Campbell Hall, located on the historic north end of MSU’s campus, was first built in 1939. A $37.1 million project funded through private donors and university bonds has preserved the hall’s historic character while improving accessibility, safety and student-centered spaces. The residence hall will serve as a living-learning community for students in the MSU Honors College.
Notable updates include: a new elevator, accessible entrance ramp, energy-efficient windows, roofing and sprinkling upgrades, building access system, and versatile spaces for studying, gathering, practicing music, wellness and academic programs.
The renovation showcases a fruitful partnership between the MSU Honors College, Residential and Hospitality Services, and Infrastructure Planning and Facilities.
The ribbon cutting for the renovated Campbell Hall will feature building tours, remarks from MSU leaders and students, and an exclusive MSU Dairy Store Flavor – Honors College Smart Cookie, cookie dough-based ice cream with butter fudge swirl and Oreo crumbles.
Media is invited to attend.
