Vanderploeg First-Generation College Celebration

Please join us on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, from 4:30-7:00PM in the Grand Foyer of the Wharton Center for Performing Arts!

The Vanderploeg First-Generation College Celebration is an annual event to celebrate students, faculty, and staff who are the first in their families to attend or graduate from a four-year institution. This event will allow for this community of scholars to come together to celebrate the strengths that they bring to MSU.

A networking reception will be hosted from 4:30PM-6PM in the Grand Foyer of the Wharton Center followed by an awards and recognition ceremony from 6-7PM in the Jackson Lounge. To nominate a student for the First-Generation Leadership and/or Innovation Award and to nominate faculty/staff who are outstanding advocates for first-gen students, please submit an award nomination form by Friday, October 27th by clicking here! The Honors College will also be recognizing first-generation student leaders separately from these awards; thanks for considering nominating students, faculty, and staff by 10/27!
