What happens when advocacy meets the front lines of the housing crisis?

Honors student Sumaiya Imad is moderating the second event in the Honors College Changemakers Speaker Series – “Decriminalizing Homelessness: Housing as a Human Right” – featuring:

  • Khadja Erickson, executive director of the Mid-Michigan Tenant Resource Center and housing chair of the NAACP Lansing branch. Erickson advances housing justice through grassroots organizing, legal advocacy, and policy reform.
  • Donovan McCarty, director of the Housing Justice Clinic and an assistant professor in the Michigan State University College of Law. McCarty represents clients facing eviction, unsafe housing, and housing inequities.

This public event takes place Thursday, April 2 from 7-8 p.m. in the Shupbach Van Wagenen South Fireside Lounge at Campbell Hall.
