Message from the Dean
Dear Honors College students, alumni and friends,
Members of our honors community excel in all aspects of life; whether it is doing exciting research and creative activities, tackling new career opportunities or volunteering in our respective communities. The MSU Honors community near and far is finding ways to make the world a better place.
In addition to the core Honors program for high-achieving undergraduates, the Honors College also includes the Academic Scholars Program; the National/International Scholarships & Fellowships Office, that serves all MSU undergraduate and graduate students; and the nationally competitive MSU Debate Team — 2004, 2006 and 2010 National Debate Tournament Champions.
Having a strong set of university and community partners is vital to the work that we do in the Honors College.
Working together, students and faculty have showcased important work in ReCUR, the Honors College scholarly journal.
The Honors College also partners with faculty from across campus for the Sharper Focus/Wider Lens forum where the community can come together to grapple with important issues and questions of the day in a trans-disciplinary format.
Thank you for keeping in touch with us through the website. I encourage you to continue to do so. We would especially welcome an opportunity to learn how you are living up to the Honors College mission to innovate, pioneer and engage.
For all the great things to come, small and large, let me thank you for all that you do with and for the people that matter to you, your community, the Honors College, Michigan State University and society as a whole.
Dr. Cynthia Jackson-Elmoore
Dean and Professor
