Honors College Facebook Group
In order to increase communication between the Honors College community and Honors College student organizations, an Honors College Facebook group has been created. This will just be one more step to help facilitate communication of news and events. Please join by searching "MSU Honors College" on Facebook or by clicking here.

Capture the Flag with HCPB
This Saturday, April 18th, the Honors College Programming Board will host the first ever Capture the Flag event! We will meet at Eustace Cole hall at 3:00 p.m., then walk to the battle grounds around Beaumont Tower. The event is scheduled from 3:00-5:00 p.m. PLEASE BRING a white/light shirt AND a black/dark shirt, as well as your friends (Honors College or not)!  This promises to be a fun time! HCPB Officer Elections
This Sunday, April 19, the Honors College Programming Board will be holding its last meeting of the year at 4:00 p.m. in Eustace-Cole hall, Upper Lounge.  There are several open officer positions for next year, and we are looking for qualified candidates to fill them.  If you are interested in running for one of these officer positions, please prepare a short (1-2 minute) explanation of why you feel you would be a suitable choice for a certain position and bring it to the meeting.  We will be holding votes to determine the Co-Presidents, Webmaster, Promotions, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian positions for next year during the meeting.

 
Kila Nafasi at BDs Mongolian BBQ
Join Kila Nafasi Student Group as they guest grill at BDs on Thursday, April 16 from 5:00-9:00 p.m.  Funds raised will go towards the sponsorship of three girls attending secondary school in Africa!  There will also be group members selling Kenyan handicrafts and t-shirts.  Click here for more information about the organization and email Steph Dawes with any questions.
 
Red Cedar River Clean-Up
The Red Cedar River Clean-Up is on Saturday, April 18. This is a bi-annual event where a group of students give back to the University by cleaning up the banks of the river. Due to high water concerns, we will most likely not be using canoes. Pizza and beverages will be provided. The clean-up starts at 10:00 a.m. at the canoe livery in front of Bessey Hall and runs until 4:00 p.m. Come, have fun, make our campus better, and enjoy a (hopefully) warm Saturday!  Contact plompmat@msu.edu with any questions.
 
5K Run/Walk for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children in Kenya
Come to the third annual FOSO 5k Walk/Run this Saturday, April 18!  The Walk/Run is a fundraiser dedicated to raising money and awareness for orphaned and vulnerable children in Western Kenya. The 5k is hosted by Family of Strength Organization, a registered student organization in cooperation with KORDP (Kenya Orphan Rural Development Programme). Together, the two groups help Western Kenyan children find shelter, education and care. Phi Sigma Pi’s Thirteenth Annual Teeter Totter-athon!
Come support PSP’s 24 hour teeter totter marathon in efforts to raise money for the Ingham County Animal Shelter.  It will start Friday, April 24 at 6:00 p.m. and go until Saturday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. at Adams Field between IM Circle and West Circle dorms.  Come see the animals and bring your pets too!  You can also sign up for the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament that will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with teams of 7-8 people, $10 per team. Student-Athlete Support Services is now looking to hire new tutors for a variety of subjects.  Tutors must have a 3.0 in any class they wish to tutor, as well they must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  Pay ranges from $7.86 per hour depending on level of education attained.  If you are interested in becoming a tutor or would like some more information please log onto our website at www.sass.msu.edu and obtain and application and more information about our program, or contact the tutorial office: tutor@sass.msu.edu.
