THE HONORS OPTION

H-Option work is a key component in the array of enrichment opportunities available to you at Michigan State University. It enables you, with the consent and guidance of participating instructors, to undertake Honors-caliber study and to receive Honors credit in many non-Honors courses. Upon completion an "H" is added to your transcript.

The availability of an Honors Option in a specific course is always dependent on the willingness of a faculty member to supervise the work. It is essential to obtain the agreement of the instructor early in the semester and before undertaking an H-Option. Some units may require students to earn a specific grade in their courses in addition to meeting the requirements of the Honors Option.

For a detailed listing of authorized courses and restrictions, see Honors Option Authorization.
